Untangling the DPIA

Untangling the DPIA

Subject: Untangling the DPIA

Don’t know what a DPIA is?
Don’t despair. GDPR talks about a risk-based approach.

Unsure whether you are processing personal data which is high risk?
Can’t decide if you even need to carry out certain mandatory assessments?
Let us untangle any confusion for you.

Join Privacy Lawyer Lillian & Data Protection Specialist Radha who will show you how to conduct a DPIA, formally known as a ‘Data Protection Impact Assessment’.

Using social media to drive sales, no problem!
Driving sales through innovation for greater market share, no problem!
Have a niche product driven to a sector for example, vulnerable people. No problem!

Follow us through the journey of the DPIA and pick up a relevant new skill for your role.

We will show you when it should be done, how it is done and how to be compliant, so you can concentrate on driving innovation and design forward.

February 14, 2018
Shoreditch, London

Hosted by Digital Leaders 100 as part of the GDPR Week in London.

A Report by Ipsos Mori and commissioned by DCMS has revealed that awareness of the new GDPR regulations is still very low. Asking businesses and charities about the regulation the survey revealed that only 38% of businesses are aware of the new regulation and only a quarter of both sectors have taken any action regards GDPR which becomes law on 25 May 2018.

The report on Cyber Security and Data Protection shows that Businesses in the finance and insurance sectors have the highest awareness of the changes while the construction industry has the lowest awareness, with only one in four aware of the incoming regulation. Awareness is higher among businesses that report their senior managers consider cyber security is a fairly high or a very high priority.

The GDPR brings in new requirements around transparency with severe fines for offenders who fail to comply either in holding data or more severely if the data is lost through a cyber breach.

Join this salon, with lead discussants Tony Richards, Director/CTO & CISO at Securestorm and Jeremy Lilley, Policy Manager at techUK to:

  • Hear from leading experts in the field of data protection and benefit from unique insights into the implications of GDPR
  • Find out about some of the solutions and support appearing in the market
